Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Employment and Training (Choices) - Using a Work First service model, Choices recipients are generally expected to participate in work activities (30 hours minimum for single parents, 35/55 hours for two-parent families depending upon their receipt of subsidized child care). Participation for most recipients will include job readiness activities and job search activities as a means of "testing the labor market" and locating employment at the earliest opportunity. |

Food Stamps Employment and Training (FSE&T) - This program offers services that will assist non-public assistance food stamp recipients in entering employment, or participation in education or vocational training activities which will promote long-term self-sufficiency. Services include: directed job search, Vocational and Non-Vocational Education/Training, Work Experience, Workfare (Able-Bodied Adult w/o Dependents only), Unsubsidized Employment. |

Dislocated Worker's Program - to be eligible you must have received a lay off notice or have been laid off due to a company closure or mass layoff. You may also be eligible if you are currently unemployed and are unlikely to return to your prior occupation due to economic conditions in that industry. |

Veterans/Disabled Veterans Services - The Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program and Local Veterans' Employment Representative (DVOP/LVER) grant has moved from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC). TVC Representatives are available to assist veteran and their families in each Career Center. |
